California Student Sustainability Coalition (CSSC)
The Education for Sustainable Living Program (ESLP) formed as a Statewide Coalition in 2003 within the California Student Sustainability Coalition, a UC-wide collaborative student effort to realize sustainability throughout the UC, CSU and CCC systems. Currently there are accredited ESLP programs in UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara and UC Los Angeles.

Want to create a ESLP at your school and would like some template resources? This google folder: ESLP Statewide Resources, has sample syllabi, course application forms, grant proposals, speaker list, statewide contact sheets and other useful information to make student led courses a reality at your campus. This can be used openly by any student wanting to create courses at their school. Student are also welcome to contact members of ESLP, listed on the statewide contact sheet within the folder, to get mentorship and advice to create ESLPs at their school.
CSSC Convergences are ideal spaces for California students and alumni of higher education to come together, share their knowledge & ideas, create personal connections with one another, cook & eat & laugh & dance together, celebrate our successes, & of course plan aggressive & strategic sustainability campaigns on the local campus, statewide & federal levels! Fall Quarter 2009, UCSC had the opportunity & privilege to host the California Student Sustainability Coalition (CSSC) Fall Convergence! In the Fall Quarter 2009 CSSC Convergence, Toshi Barks, Eva Stevens, and Annie Aguiniga led a workshop on the ESLP Model so that students interested in our program could get the information they need to expand the program to their university
In the Spring 2010, Mia Renauld and MacKenzie Price led a workshop on the ESLP model, experiential learning, and working with institutions to bring student teaching-student learning to universities.
In Fall 2012, David Shugar and Kirsten Pringle led a workshop with the Bioneers Action Education director Shanna Rapport and faulty of Chico State University about integrating sustainability focused student led courses into high education. David Shugar and Rebecca Wood were the UCSC council representatives for CSSC.
